Francesco Blasi, MD, FERS is Professor of Respiratory Medicine in the Department of Pathophysiology and Transplantation at the University of Milan, Italy, as well as Head of Internal Medicine Department and Respiratory Unit of the Fondazione IRCCS Ca’ Granda Ospedale Maggiore Policlinico, Milan, Italy.

He is also director of the Adult Cystic Fibrosis Center of the Lombardia Regional Referral CF Center and currently a member of the Board of Directors of the University of Milan.
From 2012–2013, he was president of European Respiratory Society (ERS) and from 2016–2017 president of the Italian Respiratory Society (SIP/IRS).

From 2017–2018, he was president of the Italian Respiratory Society Research Center (SIP/IRS Centro Ricerche).

Professor Blasi has published more than 350 papers in international journals [WEB of Science (01.12.2018) h-index: 50 Citations: 8620; SCOPUS (01.12.2018): h-index:53 Citations:10680; Google Scholar (1.4.2019): h-index: 70, Citations: 17,668].
His research interests include pneumonia, COPD, bronchiectasis, tuberculosis and NTM infections, cystic fibrosis and lung transplantation.

Giorgio Walter Canonica is Professor of Respiratory Medicine at Humanitas University, Milan-Italy & Senior Consultant Personalized Medicine Asthma & Allergy Center at Humanitas Research Hospital IRCCS-Milano Italy

Professor Canonica got his medical degree from the University of Genoa, Italy.

Stefano Centanni

Prof. Stefano Centanni studied medicine at the School of Medicine of the University of Milan, where he received his Medical Doctor Degree in 1979.
Following an internship at the Pulmonary Division of the McMaster University, Hamilton, Canada, in 1981 and a fellowship at the Pulmonary Division of the Mount Sinai Medical Center at the University of Miami, Florida, USA, in 1982, he specialized in Allergology at the University of Medicine of Pavia, Italy, in 1985.
He received a PhD in Pulmonary Diseases in 1998 at the University of Milan Medical School.
From 1990 to 1996 he worked as Assistant Professor of the University of Milan at the Pulmonary Division of the Maggiore Hospital, Milan, and from 1996 to 2005 as Associate Professor at the Pulmonary Division of the San Paolo Hospital, University of Milan.
Since 1996 he is Chief of the Pulmonary Division of the San Paolo Hospital, Milan, and in 2005 he became full professor of Respiratory Medicine at the University of Milan.
Professor Centanni was Italian National Delegate 2007/2009 at the ERS and FERS Italian National Delegate from 2007 until 2012 and President of SIMeR (Italian Society of Respiratory Medicine – 2009/2011).
Professor Centanni is author of more than one hundred scientific publications in international journals and several book chapters and books in the field of Respiratory Medicine

Paola Rogliani

Professor of Respiratory Medicine at the University of Rome ’Tor Vergata‘ (Italy)

Leading a translational research team, Professor Rogliani has authored over 500 publications in peer-reviewed journals. 
 
Her research focuses on obstructive pulmonary diseases, particularly the complex mechanisms and interactions of inhaled molecules, aiming to advance understanding and treatment options for these conditions. Beyond her research, Professor Rogliani holds leadership roles as Pro-Rector for Cooperation and Development Policies and President of the Italian Respiratory Society (SIP-IRS). 
 
Her work has gained international recognition, and she remains dedicated to advancing the field and improving patient care through her clinical and research efforts. 

Claudio Micheletto

Direttore della Pneumologia dell’Azienda Ospedaliera Universitaria Integrata di Verona, vice-direttore del dipartimento cardio-vascolare e toracico

Dr. Claudio Micheletto graduated in Medicine and Surgery from the University of Verona and subsequently specialized in Respiratory Diseases at the University of Modena. 

He worked as a pulmonologist at Bussolengo Hospital (Verona) until 2011, subsequently serving as Director of Pulmonology at Legnago Hospital (Verona) and Director of the Medical Department. 

Since March 1, 2019, he has served as Director of Pulmonology at the Integrated University Hospital of Verona, and Deputy Director of the Cardiovascular and Thoracic Department. 

He is a visiting professor at the University of Verona for Nursing and in the specialization schools for Respiratory Diseases and Cardiac Surgery. 

In the two-year period 2023-24 he was president of the Italian Association of Hospital Pulmonologists (AIPO-ITS) and is currently a member of the executive board as past president. 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Il dr Claudio Micheletto si è laureato in Medicina e Chirurgia all’Università di Verona e successivamente specializzato in Malattia dell’Apparato Respiratoria all’Università di Modena. 

Ha lavorato come pneumologo all’Ospedale di Bussolengo (Verona) sino al 2011, successivamente ha ricoperto il ruolo di Direttore della Pneumologia dell’Ospedale di Legnago (Verona) e Direttore del Dipartimento Medico. 

Dal 1° marzo 2019 ricopre il ruolo di Direttore della Pneumologia dell’Azienda Ospedaliera Universitaria Integrata di Verona, vice-direttore del dipartimento cardio-vascolare e toracico. 

Professore a contratto dell’Università di Verona per Infermieristica e nelle scuole di specializzazione in Malattia dell’Apparato Respiratorio e Cardiochirurgia. 

Nel biennio 2023-24 è stato presidente dell’Associazione Italiana Pneumologi Ospedalieri (AIPO-ITS), attualmente è componente del consiglio esecutivo come past-president.
